Creating your Digital Partner Ecosystem with Apigee and Cloud CDN

Whether it’s interacting with customers, partners, or third-party developers, an enterprise’s ability to expand its digital ecosystem is limited by the quality of the digital experiences it creates. Apigee X, the latest release of Google Cloud’s full lifecycle API management platform, makes it simple and easy to apply Cloud Content Delivery Network (CDN) to APIs. Working in tandem, the two solutions let enterprises not only secure and manage their APIs but also make them available across a global ecosystem of stakeholders.

Persistent metastore for all your open source data analytics frameworks

This week we announced the general availability of Dataproc Metastore. Dataproc Metastore is a fully managed, serverless metadata repository based on the Apache Hive metastore. If you are building or migrating your open source data lakes to the Google Cloud platform, you now have a central and persistent metastore for all your open source data analytics frameworks. With Dataproc Metastore you have a simple hassle-free setup that allows you to migrate your open source metadata without having to worry about setting up highly available architectures, backups, or performing maintenance tasks.

Major League Baseball fan experience with Google Cloud

MLB partnered with Google Cloud to help utilize data and technology to innovate and personalize the baseball fan (that means, you!) experience.Take MLB’s Statcast, the baseball metrics platform, is built on the Google Cloud platform.

Several cameras collect data on everything from pitch speed to ball trajectories to player poses, which get fed into the Statcast data pipeline in real time, then sent straight from the ballpark to the cloud. Statcast transforms that data into on-screen analytics that announcers use as part of their game commentary, and you can get access to this rich trove of data as well. Statcast even enables an interactive 3D pitch-tracking system.

Geospatial insights with Data Studio and BigQuery GIS

We announced new enhancements to Data Studio, including support for choropleth maps of BigQuery GEOGRAPHY polygons, so you can easily visualize BigQuery GIS data in a Google Maps-based interface. In the past, you might’ve needed specialized Geographic Information System (GIS) software, but today, these capabilities are built directly into Google BigQuery. You can store locations, routes, and boundaries with geospatial data types and manipulate them with geospatial functions andexplore this data and spot geospatial patterns visualized on a map. You can read more here.

How to build a serverless real-time credit card fraud detection solution

We developed a smart analytics design pattern, together with Quantiphi, enabling companies to build a scalable real-time fraud detection solution in just one hour using serverless, no-ops products from Google Cloud. You can watch the tutorial below to learn how to build the solution as well as dashboards to monitor the performance of the entire fraud detection pipeline.
